Designed for an artist, this house provides a hidden space which can be used to explore the client's interest in the Japanese garden, shoji screens, sculpture and flower arranging, all of which are pivotal themes in his work. Clad in patinated copper and removed from boundary walls, the house takes the appearance of a golden pavilion in a Japanese garden. Internally, shoji screens provide a flexible living space which can be adapted to the season.
