SAHARA HOUNSLOW

The 5th instalment that Clark Architecture has designed for this popular international Brand.

This corner plot site, strategically selected for its prominent position at the start of the High Street, presented a series of issues of enclosure whilst retaining the openness that a site glazed on three elevations offers.

The ground floor plan is arranged around a central focal point that radiates out and informs the various dining spaces for over 100 covers. Creating open areas that can be transformed for larger parties in an instant to more intimate, secluded spaces.

The installation utilizes a rich pallet of contrasting textures, tones and degrees of reflectivity. To provide a functioning space which changes throughout the day.

The exterior treatment responds to the harsh heavily trafficked south side of the site as well as creating an announcement for the space. The Japanese Shou Sugi Ban Method of treating timber was used to create a light extracting façade evoking the curiosity of passers by.
